Diana Maggio Dennison was a devoted wife to husband William for 55 years and a loving mother to children William and Michelle as well as to her two grandchildren William and Teague. Diana’s story is one of perseverance, living life to the fullest and extending everlasting love to her family and friends.
A mother’s love is something that no one can truly explain. It is made of deep devotion, sacrifice and pain. It is endless and unselfish, patient and forgiving and never fails or falters. Diana, Diane, Nana, Mom, each time we called, she listened and was there for us. She was the steadfast angel of our family, raising children, keeping our lives running, and always putting our needs in front of hers. As we grew older, mom resumed her career working for the State Department of Social Services as a court liaison in Annapolis, MD. As a foster care advocate for children, she greatly impacted the lives of many families. With motivation and incredible work ethic, she transitioned to management within the State Office. She retired with Honors, then continued her contributions to the community.
Mom had many accomplishments throughout her life, but always remained a very humble woman. She enjoyed the simple things and found so much joy in sharing old and new family stories and reminiscing throughout the years. Spending quality time with children and grandchildren made her heart glow. Celebrating Holidays, the change in Seasons, and dancing to her favorite songs lit up her sweet eyes and smile.
In life and now in death, mom wouldn’t want focus on the sadness of her death, but instead focus on the happiness of her and our lives. Remember Diana….
As a wife, a mother, a grandma too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
