Corey Callahan Obituary: Corey Michael Callahan was born December 31, 1987. He entered Heaven’s gates on June 8, 2017. Corey was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. His passion was caring for others, which he did through preparing artful dishes, volunteerism, and so many acts of kindness and affection. He loved nature and could be found spending as much time as possible fishing, hiking, climbing rocks, or skipping them on a river. A true lover of sports, he was equally as happy to watch a genuinely good game as to cheer on his home team. He played basketball, golf and soccer, bowled, did karate, rode motocross, and joined any game he could. In so many ways friends, family, and even strangers have been on the receiving end of Corey’s kindness throughout his life’s journey, and his family is grateful to each person who had the pleasure to return it to him. Corey was preceded in death by his grandmothers, June Feronti and Maureen Callahan, and an aunt, Jeanette Feronti. Corey is survived by his loving parents, Kevin and Terri Callahan, and Cindy and Alan Smith; his grandfathers, Joseph Feronti and John Callahan; siblings, Thomas Callahan, Ashley Callahan, Jennifer Linthicum and her husband, Shawn, as well as his niece, Grace Linthicum and nephew, Deglend Callahan; numerous cousins; aunts; and uncles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD., where the funeral service, celebrating his life, will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
