Carolyn Rejeana Atkinson was born on April 11, 1949 in Washington D.C. to the late Raymond E. and Major Lee Atkinson. Cherished Granddaughter of the late Janie Lee Harding and beloved sister of the late William M. McNeale. A loving mother to Maurice Anthony Byrd; God-sister of Alethea M. Franklin and Godmother of Jovi M. Akpeneye. Adored Aunt of several nieces and nephews. Carolyn enjoyed the company of several dear and close friends.
Carolyn was employed by the Federal Government for 27 years; 24 of those years we spent at the Drug Enforcement Administration until becoming disabled in 1997. Carolyn attended DC Public Schools and graduated from Spingarn High School in June 1969. Her formal education consisted of Howard University- Washington Saturday College. She was a former member of Goodwill Baptist Church and she continued in her faith at home with services administered by Joel Olsteen and Bishop T.D. Jakes.
