Shannon was born on September 3rd, 1974 at Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland, California to Wayne and Susan Schilling. She spent her early childhood living in Alameda before moving to Discovery Bay for the rest of her adolescent years. After marrying her now husband Raymond Marchio in 1996, they moved from Antioch to a family home in Brentwood where they lovingly raised their five children for over 20 years before settling into their current residence in Discovery Bay.
Shannon was known for the deep love that she held for her family and friends. For the last 30 years, she dedicated her life to being a wife and a mother. She took up every opportunity she could to incorporate adventure into her and her family’s life by spending time camping, boating, snow skiing, and traveling. Some of her favorite locations to frequent were Lake Tahoe, Arnold, Tiburon, and Bodega Bay. Although she was terrified of heights and sharks, she always found the strength to conquer her fears if it meant having fun jet skiing in Mexico with her husband or experiencing Hawaii’s majestic landscape in a helicopter with her kids.
She spent her most recent years helping out with her grandchildren, crafting projects and learning about food preservation, but her wild spirit of her earlier days never truly faltered. She was a strong, passionate, and fiery woman who’s presence overtook any room she entered. She was the life of every party and understood the importance of capturing all the fun that this world has to offer. She is deeply loved and will forever be missed.
Shannon is survived by her husband, Raymond Marchio; her five children, Chris, Jacquie, Kylie, Kameron, and Kayla; her soon-to-be eight grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Dean, Westley, Sienna, Alessandra, and Austin; her mother Susan Olson; her sisters, Robyn and Wendy Schilling; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Marchio and her father-in-law, Dick Marchio. She is predeceased by her father, Wayne Schilling; and her sister, Kimberly Schilling.
