Peace and love, Miss Betty.  Thank you for blessing me with your daughter and my friend, Ardis. Over the years Ardis has shared many fun(ny) stories about "her mama" and you have a  truly special relationship that will be forever cherished. A beautiful spirit.  Rest well.

From our High School years to our senior golden years Betty and I shared many times filled with joy and laughter.  She was my dear friend.  I will miss our times together, but the memories will be forever there.  My deepest sympathy and prayers of comfort to the family.

Betty, I remember when you came to help Ardis move into our first apartment. We had luggage and I had us get off the Green Line because my way was shorter. Turns out it wasn’t...lol!! You let me know that, in a motherly, kind voice. You treated my daughter and myself like we were your family. That was a blessing. I am deeply thankful that you allowed Ardis to go to Boston University so we could meet. You will always be in our hearts.  Love, Francis

My Auntie, I watched you be the faithful Door Keeper for Christ at Rising Star, now God will open wide the gates of heaven for you to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:11

For always being a loving sister, auntie, and friend, an encourager, a listening ear, and a shoulder to cry on....today we celebrate you and a life well lived.  We comfort ourselves with the words of the Apostle Paul, "for we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down, that is, when we die and leave this earthly body, we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands." 2 Cor. 5:1-2 NLT.  Though we will miss your laugh, your smile, and your loving way we know that you suffer no more and are finally, HOME.  We love you, until we meet again.  The families of: Clayton (Ora) Powell, Carol Jean (Early[d]) Carter, Lawrence (Sandra) Powell, Gregory[d](Valerie) Powell, and Cheryl Jackson.

Betty was enormously comforting to me during a very tough time in my life.
I will never forget it, and will love her always for it.

My Aunt Betty was an amazing woman.  She was very present in my life, and made sure to show up at the hospital for the birth of all  of my 5 children. When things in my life became challenging and I was facing challenges,  I remember her giving me a piece of paper with the beatitudes listed, and expressed to me that I should live my life daily based on these principles. I know my Aunt Betty is with the Lord God ALMIGHTY!  I will Cherish her memory and do my best to honor her daily for the rest of my days on this earth. Praying that when I cross over, I see my loved ones again in heaven.

"When we all get to heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus will sing and shout for Victory."

My sweet  Auntie WOW so many beautiful  memories  I have with you. We share a special  day together  our Birhday October 13 every year from a little girl I remember  your hugs ,KISSES  and words  of encouragement.  My Birthday  will never be the same without you.

BUT I will rejoice  because  Ecclesiastes 7:1 says  The day of death better than the day of birth. 

Thank you for being a true example of a christ filled Auntie your words will forever be in my heart.

Acts 16:31-They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."

I remember talking to my cousin about my mom when she passed I loved her so much , then she told me she was moving to California, we have talked from time to time my prayers always been with her and always will RIP cousin love you, Gail

Thank you Miss Betty for letting me be Ardis' friend.  I walked across the street and met a lifelong friend.  40 years later and we still connect.  Your spirit lives on.

I went with Heather Brody Newman to get her settled in her dorm her first year of college. Her roommate was Ardis Martin and that is when I met her mother, Betty. The four of us spent time walking around Boston and had a great time getting to know one another. Those are fond memories for me, I wish her family only love and happy memories during this sad time. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with them all.
