Resident of Discovery Bay

Our beloved, 64, of Discovery Bay, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly in his sleep October 2, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Soto, his adoring children by former wife, Ruth; twin sons Kelly Soto, wife Lynelle and their daughter, Kandice; Kary Soto, wife Angela and children Dillon and Savannah; beloved daughter, Kristin Soto Hinson and husband Rick, children, Jessica and Nicholas. Al's wife, Sharon brought into their marriage 24 years ago, daughter Michele Pollack and daughter Lesley Gambs, husband Paul and two children, Madison and Payton. Al was predeceased by his brother Robert and survived by brothers, Reyes and Michael and beloved sister, Linda and his many nieces and nephews. Al was born in Los Angeles to Daniel and Elia Soto, who predeceased him. He was an insurance executive for many years and upon moving to the Bay Area in 1979 started his own company in the mortgage industry. He was known for his generosity, story telling, huge laugh and his happiest times were those spent with family. Papa, we will miss you forever and love you as big as the sky! Friends and family are invited to join us at noon on Saturday, October 8th for a celebration of Al's life at St. Anne's Church 2800 Camino Diablo Rd. in Byron. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.
