Sharon Lee Pritchard

of Port Orchard

July 17, 1942 to April 30, 2015

Sharon and her twin sister, Karen, were born to Elmer (U.S. Navy) and Mildred Stone on July 17,1942. Sharon met Wayne Pritchard of Port Orchard, Washington in November 1957, and the two were married May 23,1959. After the birth of their first son Wayne in 1960, the young family traveled north to Alaska to homestead. The two homesteaded 160 acres in Delta Junction, Alaska. Their adventures included, but were not limited to, land clearing, growing oats and wrangling buffalo. While Wayne worked on crab boats, milked cows and worked construction, Sharon took great pride and joy in being a mother, wife and pioneer. They returned to Washington in 1977, where they remained until her death. She is survived by her husband Wayne, daughters Tina Wilder (Chester), Brenda Rose (Steve), Tammy Brooks, and Julie Wilder (CJ), nine grandchildren,and four great-grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her sons Wayne and James. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held May 15, 2015, 1 p.m. at Miller-Woodlawn Chapel. Reception to follow.
