On April 9, 2024, the world lost a true gentleman, Reynaldo Garza Gonzalez. He took his last breath this side of heaven surrounded by his children and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and love, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Reynaldo was born on January 6, 1944, in Rodriguez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Seferino and Enriqueta Gonzalez.
He married Catherine Olivas in 1967 in Dilley TX and they had two children Reynaldo Jr and Consuelo.
Orphaned at a very young age, he grew up as a ranch hand around cows and horses and cowboy boots, cowboy hats and buckles stayed his style his entire life.
He taught himself how to read and write using his bible and spent hours reading and praying.
Reynaldo was preceded in death by his parents Seferino and Enriqueta Gonzalez, brothers Isidro and Emilio Gonzalez, and granddaughter Rebecca Gonzalez.
Reynaldo was a loving husband and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine and a proud father to his two children, Reynaldo (Claudia) Gonzalez and Consuelo (Antonio) Garcia. He was also an amazing papi to Amanda Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, Christina Gonzalez, Cassandra (Joseph) Birdwell, Crystal (DJ) Krawetz, Claudia (Cody) Opiopio, Jamie Gonzalez, Antonio Garcia, and Isaac Garcia as well as many great-grandchildren. His love for his family was surpassed only by his love for the Lord. May his memory continue to inspire us all to live better lives and to cherish the time we have with our loved ones.
Visitation is at 10 am to 1:45 pm followed by a graveside service on May 17, 2024 at 2pm at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park 5505 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, WA 98312.
