James William Still, A Retired Air Force Mechanic and lifelong resident of Port Orchard, WA. died unexpectedly on May 25, 2022, at the age of 79 at home.
 
James was born in 1943 in Pomeroy, WA to Robert and Alta Still. He graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1963. He pursued a career in the military. He served in the US Air Force until 1970, US Navy until 1977, and ultimately retired from the US Air Force Reserve after 30 years of service. He also retired from the Dept of Defense after several decades of service. James devoted his whole life and career to his country and during his time of active duty also served a tour during the Vietnam war on the USS Constellation (CVA-64) while he was serving in the US Navy. On March 21, 1989,  he married Barbara Welsh of Port Orchard, WA.
 
James was a devoted father, who loved to ride motorcycles, work on cars, and travel. He loved to go to the local restaurants to eat and visit with people. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
 
James is preceded in death by his father Robert Still and his mother Alta Still.
 
James is survived by his wife of 33 years Barbara Still; Daughters Shannon of Pacific Northwest, and Kandi (Radell) Stephens of Leesville, LA. His Grandchildren Seth Anderson of Pineville, LA, Colin (Bonnie) Anderson of Leesville, LA, Ashlan Stephens of Leesville, LA, Kassidy Stephens of Leesville, LA, and Kasey Stephens of Ruston, LA. His Great Grandchildren Andrew Dowden of Leesville, LA, Paige Anderson of Leesville, LA, Ian Anderson of Leesville, LA, and Emily Anderson of Leesville, LA. He is also survived by His Sisters Peggy and Linda, and brother Bobby. Also a host of many nieces and nephews. 
 
A service will be scheduled at a later date.
