Francisco Taimanglo Atoigue, 77, of Bremerton, WA was called home on April 12, 2023, after a heroic and valiant battle with heart disease. He was surrounded by his loyal family when he took his last breath.
Francisco “Frank” Atoigue, Familian Tali was born on December 3, 1945, in Sinajana, Guam. Frank passed away at St. Michael Medical Center after complications from quadruple bypass heart surgery. But Frank fought until the end, which was a testament of his entire life. Frank spent the early part of his life as a soldier in the United States Army. He served honorably, enlisting in May 1966 until May 1973. Frank was a member of the 101st Airborne Division, the “Screaming Eagles.” From 1967-1969, Frank served as an Artilleryman in Vietnam War. The Army led Frank to Fort Ord, CA, Aberdeen, MD, Fort Irwin, CA, Fort Campbell, KY, Vietnam, Germany, Okinawa, Japan, Fort Lewis, WA, and Fort Bliss, TX as part of the 3rd Calvary Division. From November 1981 until November 1993, Frank was part of the Army National Guard, Company B, 181st Support Battalion, and Fort Lewis, WA. Franks military honors and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal w/4 Loops, National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Bronze Stars, Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Component Achievement Medal 2nd award, Army Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, WSGCR 2nd, NSGR 20 years, Overseas Bars 2 each, RVN Gallantry Cross Medal, RVN Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
Because of his wife Lou loving Washington State, after being discharged from the Army he relocated his family from Fort Bliss, TX to Gorst, WA. Where he worked at West Park Lanes for a short period of time. From August 1973 through early 2005, Frank worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA as a crane operator. His contributions to the shipyard earned him high accolades including: 8 Performance Awards, 5 Special Act Awards, 2 Sustained Superior Performance Awards, and 2 Letters of Appreciation.
Frank loved to collect Coins, Challenge Coins, model Ford Mustangs cars, and OCC motorcycle models. His favorite hobbies included bowling, he entered numerous tournaments around WA. His daughters have fond memories of watching him bowl in leagues, specifically every Sunday for The Islander League. For years he was the videographer for all of their family events and was asked to capture important moments for other families within the Chamorro Community. He was a skilled mechanic and carpenter, his daughters were always amazed by the things he built around the house. Frank was also an aspiring artist who loved to turn simple things into beautiful designs and creations; from artwork on paper to creations made with fruits and vegetables that were used as table centerpieces at large events. He was always dancing at parties, telling stories of the past, and watching games on TV specifically his favorite teams…Las Vegas Raiders and Las Angeles Lakers. He was a HUGE fan!
He entered Heaven’s Gates and reunited with his first wife, Lourdes “Lou.”; his parents Tomas Mafnas & Engracia Quidachay Atoigue; Parents-In-Law Mariano Duenas & Ana Naputi Leon Guerrero; Siblings and their Spouses, Pedro Atoigue, Tomas & Brigida Atoigue, Pedro Castro, Rosa & Juan Reyes, Maria & Juan Cruz, Matilda & Jesus Charfarous, Juan & Annie Atoigue, and Lawrence Atoigue; Siblings-In-Law and Spouses: Juan L.G., Espreciosa & Ignacio Reyes, Gloria Howton, Lourdes N.L.G., Steve Hildebrand, Marilyn L.G., Barbara L.G., Frederick Niklaus, and Jose Quitugua.
His loving kindness and memory will be remembered by his beautiful wife Avelina Balicolon Atoigue. Siblings and Spouses; Anna Atoigue, Anna Castro, Louisa & Glenn Ijima, Vincente & Benita Atoigue, Rudolfo & Anna Atoigue, and Avelina Maratita.

Lastly…his unrelenting, undying, unconditional, and unwavering commitment and love for his family will be forever remembered and honored by his children, grandchildren, and extended family….his daughters Ann Grace and Teresa “Trish” Valerie, his sons-in-law Raymond Meim and Dennis Roseta, and the light of his life, his grandchildren…Josaiah Francisco Atoigue, Brandon Ray Atoigue Meim, Carmen Jace Atoigue Roseta, & Andrew Isaias Atoigue Meim.

For his family he knew no bounds or limits and lived each day for them.
Frank touched all our lives. His memory and legacy will live with each of us forever. We will miss him and honor him every day by fighting for what we love, the way he did. We love you, Frank.
