Erodita Pelone passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 at her home in Bremerton. She is survived by her sons— Charles Pelone and Ray Pelone; her daughters — Grace Lucero and Regina Acosta; her grandsons—Matthew Pelone, Brandon Lucero, Justin Lucero, Aaron Pelone, Lance Tudor, Markus Isham, Mitchell Isham, Corey Pelone, and Caleb Pelone; and granddaughters—Melia Lucero and Gia Acosta. Tita, as many knew her, was many things—a sister, a mother, and a wife. I always knew her as Grandma. Being the youngest of her eleven grandchildren, I realize I only knew my Grandma for a small fraction of her life, but in that time I have learned so much from her.
My Grandma was the strongest person I knew. She survived her seven brothers and sisters; her husband, Larry A. Pelone; and her daughter, Mary Jane Pelone Ozmer. My Grandma lost her home to a fire in 2014 and within the same year, suffered the death of one of her children. She never allowed the loss and pain she had experienced to define who she was. She was kind, and patient, and she saw the love in everything. My Grandma taught me to live life, despite the sadness and pain I may encounter. She taught me to be patient and to trust God. She taught me to stay true to myself and to be the best I can be. Above all else, my Grandma taught me to love. We miss you so much, Grandma. We all love you forever and will see you again one day.
