Charles was raised in Tacoma, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1954. then attending the University of Washington.
On Aug. 13. 1955 he married his childhood sweetheart, Joyce Carol Snyder in Tacoma.
After 33 years, he retired as Supervisor Mechanical Engineer from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton.
Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, coaching and umpiring youth baseball, traveling, dancing at The HUB and being an avid Seattle
professional sports fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Carol Fike, sisters Rita V. Tarrant, Alice Charles-Dennison, and brother Wallace Terrance Fike.
Survivors include his partner, Arlene Taylor of Bremerton, sons, Robert Fike of Oregon, Richard Fike of Olympia, David Fike of Poulsbo, and Donald Fike of Port Orchard.
