Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at the age of 75, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Dave (2020). Devoted Mom of Mark (Lori), Amy (David), and Sadie (Chris). Adored Grandma of Allysa, Cameron, Emma, Rachael (Micheal), Melissa, Riley and Cassidy as well as Great-Grandma to Aveena, Jack, Markus, Ruby and Daizey. She will be greatly missed by her brother John, sister in law Marie, many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley was predeceased by her twin sister Sherry and siblings Gary, Don, Bill and Pat. She will be lovingly remembered by Rob Westbrook. Shirley spent 25 years of dedication volunteering for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She also had a passion for her Tuesday dominoes group, her many collections and the family’s favourite place, the cottage. As per Shirley's wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Guelph Human Anatomy Program. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home (96 West St., Brantford) on Monday, October 4th, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. As per current restrictions masks and social distancing are mandatory. A private Christian Mass will be taking place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The St Vincent de Paul Society or the Breast Cancer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
