Captain William Carroll Lynn Asher USN CHC retired died on October 26, 2016. He was a U.S. Navy Chaplain and Pastor. He was employed by the U.S. Navy and the First Baptist Church of DeMoines, WA. His interests included making award winning jam and bread, gardening, cooking, baking, and ministering to others. He was a graduate of Wheaton College with a BA in Psychology, Asa graduate of Northern Theological Seminary M-Div as well as a graduate of Pepperdine University with a MS in pastoral counseling. Predeceased are his father James Donophan Asher, mother Eithel Asher, bothers James, Thomas, Walter, and Forrest, sisters Alvoy, Mary, Dorothy, Katherine, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Mildred. He leaves behind his loving wife Edna Sherrill Gerrard Asher, son Lowell Timothy Asher, daughters Rowena Colleen Asher-Ross, sisters Emma Huber and Lillian Gessner, grandchildren Meredith Ross II, Janelle Lynn Asher-Amezcua, David William Ross, Katrine Leigh Asher, and Timothy Bryan Asher.
Services to be held on Friday, November 4 at 11 am at the University Baptist Church. Friends can gather from 10 am until time of service. Burial to take place at Florida National Cemetery with military honors for his many years of service to God and his country.
