WILSON JR, Leonard E. “Lenny”, was born January 4th, 1958 in Yuma, Arizona to the parentage of Leonard and Katie Wilson. Lenny moved to Pixley, California at a very young age where he was raised by Grand Parents John James Wilson Sr. and Alberta Ross-Wilson (both deceased). Lenny attended Earlimart Elementary, Earlimart Junior High and Delano High School. Lenny worshipped many days of his life at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Tulare, California where he was baptized and saved under the guidance of Pastor Elder B. Rushing.
Lenny moved to Fresno, California at the age of 15 where he was reunited with his Mother and five more of his siblings. Lenny attended Washington Union High School until he enlisted in the USAF in January of 1975.
Lenny served 24 years in the United States Air Force and had a distinguished career before retiring honorably as a Master Sergeant. Some of his accomplishments include: Graduate Airman Leadership School, Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) Academy (Distinguished Graduate) and the Senior Non-commissioned Air Force Academy (Distinguished Graduate). Associate’s Degree in Business Management, President of the Top Four Non-commissioned Officers Association at Shaw AFB, 20th Supply Squadron Senior NCO of the Quarter (three times), Ninth Air Force 1997 Military Superintendent of the Year, 20th Fighter Wing Commander’s Excellence Leadership Award, 20th Supply Squadron William C. McKinney Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Leadership Award, and 20th Fighter Wing Senior NCO of the Year.
Upon retirement from the USAF, Lenny worked as a Manager for Nortrax Inc, a Construction and Forestry Equipment Sales Subsidiary of John Deere for 14 years.
Lenny leaves to cherish his loving memory his lovely wife of 36 years, Mary Wilson “Shorty” of Tampa, Fla.; mother, Katie Wilson of Fresno Calif.; two daughters, Dekino Kornegay-Wilson “Butta” of Tampa, Fla., Tacoma Wilson-Yarrell “Coo” of Spartanburg, S.C., two sons, Tarvoris Kornegay-Wilson “Fred” of Tampa, Fla., Daniel Dominique Wilson “D-man” of Tampa, Fla.; one foster daughter, Kanesha Testerman “Nesha” of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Linda Wilson-McDowell of Fresno, Calif., Lydia Wilson of Moreno Valley, Calif.; four brothers, Michael Butler of Fresno, Calif., Robert Wilson of Moreno Valley, Calif., David Harris of Fresno, Calif., and Antoine Hatcher Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; one son-in-law; one daughter-in-law; four brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Lenny was preceded in death by sisters; Kathy Branch-Wilson, Debra Butler-Jefferson, Esther Wilson; and brother, David Wilson.
Everyone loved Lenny, but God loved him best!
