Laci Jae Wood

She graduated from Riverton Parke High School where she lettered in basketball, volleyball, was a member of the National Honor Society and Homecoming Queen. She graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in Family and Human Services. She was also a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha women’s fraternity. She worked as a paraprofessional in the Access Department at Burns Middle School for Hillsborough

County Public Schools. She was devoted to the kids she helped, wore her heart on her sleeve, and felt very compassionately about those students in foster care.

Laci is survived by her parents, William and Sandra Wood; sisters, Jesi Flores (Michael), Kori Wood; soul sister, Kayla Altman of Rosedale, Indiana; and her person,Tony Lee of California.

She was Aunt La to Beckett and Hadley Flores; and best buddies with her grandmother, Donna Strain. In life, her constant companion and comfort was her dog, Wennie. Laci had several aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her very much. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Terry and JoAnn Wood of Fontanet, Indiana and James Strain of Rosedale, Indiana.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Laci’s name to A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay.
