James M. Tucker, age 84, passed away October 11, 2022 in Tampa, Florida. Born on September 12, 1938 in Kymball Township, Michigan to Charles and Mildred (Hollenbeck) Tucker. James was married to his wife Rosalie (Massaro) Tucker, with whom he raised three children, on April 15, 1961. James was a veteran of the United States Navy where he once served on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga. Upon release from the Navy he chose next to serve his community as a firefighter with the City of Tampa Fire Department where he served 24 years retiring as a Captain. He was also a career member of the International Association of Firefighter Local 754. A devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He not only served his country and community, James was always available to support his family, extended family and friends whenever and for whatever needed to be done when called upon. James was always known as someone you could lean on in a time of need. He was a pillar of strength, dedication, support and love to all. James held fast to his faith, even as his health failed. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
James leaves behind his children, Gregory Tucker, James (Angie) Tucker, David (Deanna) Tucker; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his wife Rosalie; a stillborn child Richard; siblings Donald Tucker, Marvin Tucker who passed in WWII, William Tucker, Doris Gilroy, Orilla Bisnett, Beulah Kristick and Clarence Tucker.
