Howard Nelson Speak

Speak, Howard “Tyke”, 68, of Seffner, passed away on Monday November 28th. He will be missed by his family, friends, and the community. Tyke was born to Howard Speak and Peggy Orndorff in 1954 in Tampa, Florida. He grew up in Hillsborough County. His joys as a child were fishing and playing with the neighborhood kids. Tyke’s dream of becoming a machine mechanic came true when he started his career with Singleton Seafood.

Tyke loved his children, grandchildren, and sibling with all his heart. Tyke and Gina Sanders welcomed their first son, Tristan Speak, in 1991 and welcomed their second son, Preston “Bubba” Speak in 1993. Tyke loved his sons and was always there to support them in anyway possible. In his spare time, he enjoyed race cars, collecting coins, guns, and driving his corvette. Tyke loved baseball and football and cheered on the Rays and 49ers as often as he could! Tyke “Papa” adored his grandchildren and spend as much time as he could with them.

Tyke is survived by his sons: Tristan Speak (Terra Bailey) and Preston “Bubba” Speak (Frank), grandchildren: Grayson and Carson Speak, siblings: Lizzy, Jeff, and Michelle. Tyke is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Peggy, and his siblings, Tina and Dwayne.

A Memorial Service of Howard “Tyke’s” Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 8th at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Brandon Florida.
