Dear Charles, I learned today that Ms. Ruby has passed into the Presence of Jesus.  I know that you are there for her.  To help her and guide  her.  My heart is broken at her leaving us, but that burden is made lighter knowing that you are there to Shepard her in her transition.  Love to both of you this day.

Three years! I can't believe that much time  has passed since I looked upon your face, felt your touch, or heard your loving voice.

We still miss and love you, sweet husband and revere you as a loving father.  Your time away from us is felt each and every day.

Just know that you will always be loved.

Tarah has survived her ordeal, and always has you on the mind and in her heart.  She is a joy.

Seems like I can't leave you a message without writing a condolence.  Strange, but I will play.

We came through Ian fairly fine. No major damage.  Our neighbor's tree found itself in our side yard, but he  had it removed yesterday.
He did leave some panels there.  They weren't ours so I placed them with the trash.

Your family misses you terribly.  We know that God is with us because of you and Cora Lee.  I know that you two are enjoying your talks and sharing many memories.  You are so loved.

Just returned from the yearly visit to Katrina's.  All are well and living their lives to the fullest.
Kaylee celebrated her 13th birthday.  She is as tall as I am now.
Jaden is entering his junior year at Bridgewater State University.  He is still a great  young man, studious, well mannered, and just as loving.
Tarah now lives out-of-state, but she gets home as often as she can.  
She came to spend an evening with me and slept over.  
Sarai was her usual self.  No hysterics, just playful and keeping at Kaylee's side.
It was a great visit, my dear.  You were there for each and every step.

Happy Birthday,  my Sweet!  Your light still shines, your love is still felt each and every day.  Continue to guide us, consul us, and love us.

Hi Dad,  I can’t bear to think of another Christmas without you.   Not being to hear your strong deep voice or your tenderness of concern for your family. I still look at your text messages you sent in the past to remind me of the sweet and caring gentle giant you were to all of us. Charles, even though Mother's Day was not the same without you, Father's Day will be even harder.

I miss the "surprise" on the kitchen table, and your gentle prodding to open my gift.  45 years of celebrated holidays will be with me to provide some comfort.

My heart is still broken and will be for some time, but I still feel your presence, and that is my blessing.

My dear Grandpa, I miss you every day especially when I came down to Florida to support Grandma (GG), Mom, Uncle Kenny, Auntie Chelsea, and Uncle Chris. Your presence at home was deeply missed. I sat in your chair waiting for you to come around the corner to say, "Tarah, what are you doing in my chair?". You never came. I stared at your shoes near the door that you will never put on again. GG and I reminisce and laughed how you use to walk in and out the room about two to three times then you say something. I miss your laugh. I remember when my siblings and I came to Florida and mention steak & cheese, you knew we had to take a ride to Publix. 

You & GG were there at my most proud events of my life, my college graduation and my wedding. At my college graduation party, I presented a plaque to you & GG for being influential in my life and grateful for wonderful grandparents. I planned my wedding in a month and getting a flight short notice would be so expensive, but I wanted you to be there and you were. My mom FaceTime you & GG to witness my wedding on my iPad 7 years ago. I felt you & GG's presence even though you were more than 1,200 miles away. You were so proud and so happy.

The best memory I have of you was surprising you for your birthday. We flew to Florida, got to the house and hid behind the door. You were coming home from the Y. You opened the door and we said, "SURPRISE!!" You had the biggest smile on your face and was so shocked. I didn't care if you were sweating, I gave you a hug anyway. 

The last conversation we had, you were home. In pain but glad to be home with your family. We talked about football. It was always about football with us. Although you took Tom Brady, I forgave you, then my husband and I converted to a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. You asked if Momma Bear (my mom) will convert and I said, NEVER! 

I know you are wrapped in God's arms and you are no longer in pain. I love you always and forever!!

Charles will be remembered as a kind, caring, & thoughtful man. His spirit will live on in all of us he has touched.

Although I never had the chance to meet you here on earth I want to thank you for all the positive morals and Values you passed on to your children, Kenny specifically he is an amazing man and he has told me it’s all been because of you, the way you took care of his mother when he was a child and the those same qualities I see in him. May you Rest In Peace forever grateful for your presence and honorability  in your family’s life Fly with the angels you will be missed by all hopefully we will meet one day when I cross over you are an inspiration! Grandpa Charles,
Visiting Florida will never be the same again because we will miss seeing and spending time with you. Especially, when Grandma Gale and my Mom would take a ride to Publix and Kaylee and me stayed at the house with you. When I was a toddler,  I would run around the house and the pool and you would try to catch me but there were many times you couldn’t. LOL!  I loved watching basketball with you and talking about the various team and players because these moments always lead to interesting conversations.

Our greatest memory was when we flew from Boston to Florida to surprise you for your birthday. You had no idea, when you arrived home from working out at the YMCA that (Nana, Tarah, Tommie, Kaylee & myself)  were on the other side of the door waiting to surprise you.

You always said “I was a good kid and I had a good head on my shoulders and continue to finish school and strive for greatness”. I intend to walk in your footsteps and strive for greatness!

Grandpa Charles,
You came to Boston on my 10th Birthday party and told me you will see me the following month. I was confused because I didn't know about the surprise Disney trip my mom had planned me but apparently you did. Although, my trip was not that long ago, during that same week, I still remember watching you and Grandma taking your time to clean the pool for Jaden and me. We had so much fun swimming all day.  Thank you for being the strongest Great Grandpa ever! Grandma Gale you are a very strong woman and we love you!

To our superhero Dad,

We would like to thank you for everything you have done for us. We wanted you to know that we feel so blessed to have you as our father. There are no words to described the love and security we have felt ever since you walked into our lives over 45 years ago.

You are person  we always looked up to for guidance, security and encouragement. A father plays a crucial role in nourishing his child’s life. Your self-motivation played a crucial role in being successful in life. Mountains seemed like pebbles to us, and there was nothing you couldn’t not achieve in your own academic and career journey. 

Although, your natural heart has stop beating, we know that you love for us will never stop.

Chelsea and I grew up as childhood friends, being that said Mr. Dixon and Mrs. Gale were a big part of my growing up. I spoke to Chelsea the other day and she reminisced on how Mr. Dixon had taken us to a high school game, the one part I remember was that I had a test the next day, so I came with my book and was studying in the back of the car. I remember the encouragement that he gave for me to pass my test, even though Chelsea and I were going to hang out. You all always made me feel apart of the family.  You were a great man will be sorely missed. On behalf of the whole entire Ross family we send our sincere condolences.     

Such a wonderful man.  He has been so supportive and sweet.  Especially with my mom not being here, I felt so special having  both Gale and Charles in my corner.  He will be forever missed 😞

Dear Mr. Dixon,

Although we’ve only met on occasion, you were so warm and welcoming towards me every single time. I have always enjoyed conversing with you and have been touched by your genuine interest in my life and concern for me. Most people who know you laud your love for family, your high moral standards and your solid work-ethic, but I’ve also been privileged enough to see another side of you- a lighthearted one. Your sense of humor and powers of observation have always stuck with me.  

Over the years, I feel like I’ve come to know you very well through Chris who has shared many stories and  memories of you. He is truly the living proof of the impeccable values that you stood for and sought to inculcate in your children. Chris and Chelsea are a testament to how great a father you were.

You will be dearly missed but I know you are looking out for us from heaven and that gives us much-needed comfort. 
Rest In Peace knowing that you were successful in your life’s work.

   At times like this it's hard to know what to say. All I know is Butchie as we used to call Charles was always the captian of the of the team. Whether we played football or cowboys & indians, Charles always set a fine ex. for the rest of us growing up Ronald, John, Carolyn and myself. He is the last of the double first cousins as we refered to  each other.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family Gale. Please feel free to call us at any time that you might need too.

I write these words as I hold back the tears that have been stalking me since Sunday. The pain comes from knowing a piece of me would be gone forever. Though it hurts now, I take solace in the fact that a part of you will live on through me. Not just in my blood but my character. 

You not only taught me the things most dads teach their children, like how to ride a bike or throw a ball. You taught me how to face adversity head-on. You taught me that life wouldn't be easy, but that is why the taste of victory is so sweet. You gave me the tools I needed to be the best version of me I could be, even when the entire time I was trying to be you. 

You were the only role model I ever had or needed. If I can someday become half of the man you were, it would be more than enough to conquer any obstacle life could throw my way. I will do my best to make you proud every day.

Throughout my life you have been my constant rock. When nothing else seems certain, I found security in you. I remember being a young girl playing in the backyard in Boston. I was with Angie. We were carving letters into a tree. Out of nowhere, a pack of dogs ran our way. Terrified, we ran to the backdoor and into the house. I remember looking up at you as you greeted us. You were our defender. You approached the door fearlessly and chased the dogs away. I remember feeling secure, comforted and protected. In one of my earliest memories of you, you set a precedent in my life which you’ve never broken. You have always been there for me. Thank you for always being my defender and for teaching me to have courage. I get my strength from you.

Our souls were joined for 45 years.  I can't begin to tell you what our time together meant to me.  The love, care, and respect that you showed and delivered to and for your family will always be your crowning glory.

You will have the love and respect of your children and your spouse.  No man could have a more fitting tribute.

Grandpa,
You were truly amazing. You always welcomed us with open arms. My children surprised you for your birthday one year and they didn't want to come home. They wanted to stay in Florida with their great grandparents. My fondest memory if you was when you told me to sit and watch you play pool in which I did and still had no clue what was going on. 
I will always cherish the time I spent with you. Please continue to watch over us while you rest in heaven.
