He is preceded in death by his father Charles Wyckaand his mother Helen Kerod Wycka; sister, Melanie O’Neill; brother Peter Wycka, brother Paul Wycka and stepson Jeffrey Brehme.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 28 years Linda; son Robert Wycka and his wife, Karen; stepdaughter, Lisa Nichols and her husband Gregory Nichols; grand-daughter, Violet Nichols of Dallas, TX; two grandsons Dean and Desmond Wycka of Plant City FL. He is also survived by his sister Helene Murla of Miami, FL, sister Valerie Wycka of Palm Bay, FL, brother, John Wycka and Barbara Wycka of Ava, Missouri. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
He was an Eagle Scout Order of the Arrow and was at the World’s Fair.
He enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1966. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune for basic training. He went in for Naval Air Technical Training Certification, Memphis, TN, Aviation Mechanical Fundamentals School Class A March 10, 1967. He received two medals; National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Sharpe Shooter Badge.
His civilian education included 12 years (1966 Jersey City, NJ); MAD, NATTC, NAS, MFS Mechanical Fundamentals (1967). MAD, NATTC, NAS, MFS AVA Mach Mate (JET) CRSCIA (1967).
Carl was multi-talented in stain glass, oil painting and art. He was employee of the year at the Hyatt, Tampa FL for building a life size Monopoly Board with pieces. He was a certified scuba diver for Busch Gardens, Tampa FL for the Hippo Lagoon. He received his private pilot’s license May 11, 1985 for single engine.
A gathering of friends and family for Carl will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer's and Dementia Association.
