William was born in Newton, NJ on February 21, 1945 to the late William and Lois (Devore) McCain. William graduated from Newton High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his retirement, he was the President and CEO of the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges. He was a member of the Newton Country Club, West Orange Rotary and Newton Rotary.
William is survived by his wife, Shelley McCain; his children, Whitney McCain, Justine Van Blarcom (Charles), Andrew Lach (Samantha) and Molly Lach and his grandchildren, Hannah, Chandler, Madigan, Chloe, Brooks and Henry.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Christ Episcopal Church, 62 Main St, Newton, NJ 07860.
