It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the Andrews family announce the peaceful passing of their mother at Trillium Health Network Hospital, in Mississauga, following a brief illness with family by her side throughout her final days at the age of 85. Daughter of the late Naomi (nee Burt) and Ephraim Simms of St. Anthony, Newfoundland. Beloved wife of Nathaniel Stewart Andrews for 68 years. Loving mother of Archibald (Lillian), Wayne (Holly), Margaret, Hazel (late Maxwell), Ivy (late Paul), Leonard (Rita), Carol (Gary), and William (Christina). Pre-deceased by 2 sons; William and Bernard. Cherished grandmother of Catherine, Roxanne, Roy, Julie, Susan, Laura-Lynn, Peggy, Lynn, Gordon, Shawn, Jeremiah, Natalie, Mikayla, Lorelei, Sarah, Andrew, Stewart and Monica. Violet “NAN” will be greatly missed by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Annie Patey of St. Anthony, NFLD. Family and friends may gather at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre - 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton (North of Steeles Avenue) 905-456-8190, on Sunday, November 20th , 2016 from 2pm-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home at 11am on Monday, November 21st, 2016. Violet Lillian Jemima Andrews will be interred in the St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery in St. Anthony, Newfoundland at a later date. She was loved in life and will not be forgotten in death.
