It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Myre (Jenny), a beloved wife, mother, and friend, on October 11th, 2024 at the age of 80.
Jenny was a devoted wife to her husband, Bob, for 55 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, respect, and unwavering commitment to one another. Their bond was a beautiful example of true partnership, grounded in deep affection and shared values. Through life’s ups and downs, Jenny stood steadfastly by her husband’s side, her love and support never faltering.
Jenny also had a boundless love for her family, and her greatest pride was in nurturing her children and grandchildren. Jenny, known as Yia-Yia had a special bond with each of them, and her eyes would light up whenever they were near. She was the heart of the home, bringing warmth, wisdom, and love into every moment. Whether it was through her thoughtful words, her gentle touch, or the way she effortlessly made everyone feel special, her presence was a source of comfort and strength for all who knew her.
Her kindness, selflessness, and dedication to the happiness of others will never be forgotten. She touched the lives of so many with her caring heart and generous spirit, and her legacy will live on in the love she inspired in her family and friends.
Born in Greece on November 25, 1943 to the late Leonidas and Dorothea Vassos and dear sister to the late Jimmy Vassos. Jenny is survived by her husband Bob, her children Michael (Myra) and Dorothea (Ken) and her beloved grandchildren Vanessa, Stephanie, Carissa & Owen. Though her loss leaves a deep void, her love will continue to guide and comfort those she left behind.
The family invites relatives and friends to share their memories of Jennifer during memorial visitation, held at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 10am-12pm. A Celebration of Life will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 12pm, followed by reception.
In lieu of flowers, in Jennifer’s memory, please consider donating to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.andrewscommunityfuneralcentre.com for the family.
Rest in peace, dear Jenny. Your love, devotion, and kindness will remain with us forever.
