Raquel’s greatest joy on this earth was her children, James A. Ray and Jessica Ray. All that knew Raquel, knows that her love for her children surpasses her time on this earth. However, she loved all children and spent her life making a difference in so many children’s lives while working as a Spanish teacher at Rowlett Academy for over 20 years.
Raquel’s faith never wavered during her battle with glioblastoma. During her illness, she was a pillar of inspiration, strength and love for her family and friends.
In addition to her children, Raquel is survived by her mother (Catalina Mancillas), her sisters (Mela Mancillas, Estella Pena and Aida Gonzales), and her brothers (Roman Mancillas, Jr., Chavel Mancillas, Tony Mancillas and Ismael Mancillas) as well as many nieces and nephews. Rachel is predeceased by her father (Roman Mancillas, Sr.), her brother (Jose Mancillas), and her father-in-law (Jim Ray).
