Mary loved her Monday lunch and get-togethers at her home with her adult children. Then Mary spent the majority of her working life as owner and manager of Frog Creek Campground. Throughout her life, she had a passion for playing bridge with her friends. In her younger years she was an avid tennis player and in later years enjoyed watching tennis as much as possible. Mary really loved to watch football and passed that down to many in the family. She loved to travel all over the world with her late husband, her mother, daughter, and friends.
Mary was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church of Bradenton. She volunteered in the church pre-school for many years and was a member of the 3-M Sunday school class. Mary also made sure all her kids were there for Sunday School every week which she got from her mother, Doris May, who was also very active at the church throughout her life.
Once Mary retired, she spent much of her time as a volunteer at Blake Hospital and also delivering Meals on Wheels. She really enjoyed interacting with those she met while doing her volunteer work. Mary graduated from Manatee High School and was voted friendliest in the Senior Class.
She will be laid to rest at a private family ceremony on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Bradenton.
