Joseph Marsala, known affectionately as Joe, passed away on November 11, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 89. Born on July 1, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY. Joe dedicated 46 years of his life as a member and representative of Local 3 of the United Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in New York City.
Joe was a beloved figure, known for his kindness, generosity, and a wonderful sense of humor. His commitment to his family was profound, embodying the role of a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Marsala; daughters, Josephine Tanzi and Diane Gaffney; son, Hon. William E. Marsala; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Corrieri Marsala; son-in-law, Gary Gaffney; and grandsons, Steven Tanzi, Joseph Tanzi, and William Edward Marsala. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Marsala and Josephine Di Giovanni Marsala; brothers, Benjamin and Nicholas Marsala; and sister, Vitina Marsala.
An avid sports fan, Joe enjoyed watching the New York Rangers and the New York Yankees. His hobbies also included playing golf, and savoring fine cigars and single malt scotch, which brought him much joy and relaxation.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in commemorating Joe's life at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home Atat Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home At Manasota Memorial Park, located at 1221 53rd Avenue E., Bradenton, FL 34203. Services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe's memory to St. Jude's Children Hospital, honoring his lifelong commitment to generosity and helping others. The Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
