Joanne Taylor

Joanne Taylor, 77, passed peacefully on February 14, 2014, at Tidewell Care Center in Lakewood Ranch, FL. She was born in 1936 in Seville, Ohio. Joanne and husband, Charles, moved to Holmes Beach in 1965 and owned Island Rental Service for 21 years. Once retired, Joanne and Charles traveled throughout the United States until his death in 1998.

Joanne, having relocated to Zolfo Springs, FL, met Thomas Muir, and over the 15 years they were together, enjoyed traveling many places around the USA, the Caribbean and over 22 countries around the world.

Joanne loved to read, quilt and especially make handiwork items for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her significant other, Thomas Muir (Zolfo Springs, FL); her daughters Tina (Taylor) Wood and Linda Taylor; grandchildren Danielle (Wood) McRoberts, Christopher Wood, and Charlie Taylor Gianiotes; great-grandchildren Aaden and Annabelle, (all of Bradenton, FL); and her brothers Gale Norton, and Clair Norton, Jr.

In accordance with Joanne’s wishes there will be no services and her ashes will be scattered in the mountains of North Carolina where she and Tom shared their summers. In her memory, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, FL.
