He was born in Evergreen Park, IL, on December 6, 1942. Don graduated from Mendel Catholic High School in 1960 and joined the Navy in November of 1960. He served on the USS Duncan DDR 874 and was honorably discharged in November 1963, then joining the Naval Reserve.
He was married to Lynette Guest on April 30, 1977, who preceded him in death on July 12, 2022. Don was recently engaged to Nancy Desjardins.
Don worked as a Data Processing Analyst and Manager for American Drug Stores, Inc., the parent company of Jewel/Osco. He had a passion for hard work and perseverance, which was heavily influenced by his time in the Navy.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Lizbeth) Guest; daughter Karen Guest-Reger; grandchildren by Tim, Caleb, Nathaniel, Richard and Thomas; grandchildren by Karen, Jacob and Zachary; Gerald (Andrea) Guest; and six great-grandchildren.
