Dollie met the love of her life, Walter Jack Davis, in 1944 and he quickly followed her to Houston as she ventured off to the big city. They were married on August 25, 1945, in Houston, Texas, and together they raised 2 beautiful children: Darlene and Walter. Dollie was an active parent, grade school volunteer, PTA member, Girl Scout mom, Cub Scout mom, and proud grandparent. Once empty-nesters, Dollie and Jack built a home and retired to a few acres in Crockett, Texas to once again enjoy the quiet life, but eventually age and a desire to be nearer their expanding family moved them to Katy, Texas. After Jack's death in 1996, Dollie moved to a few different retirement villages, eventually settling in Bradenton, Florida.
Dollie is survived by daughter Darlene Kukla and husband Robert of Bradenton Florida, son Walter Davis and wife Stephanie of Katy Texas, grandsons Chris Webb and Matthew Kukla, granddaughters Kelly Churchwell and Lauren Davis-Rodriguez, as well as eight great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by father John Harrison, mother Lizzie Bobbitt, sister Lena Mae Vaughan, brothers Claude Harrison, James Harrison, and GL (Bay) Harrison, and husband Walter Jack Davis.
Dollie, may she rest in God's loving embrace, was an example of a life well lived, and she'll be missed by family and friends for years to come. Dollie’s remains will be interred beside her husband in Houston and a graveside memorial service will be held at a future date yet to be decided by her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice which provided such loving care to Dollie during her final days. https://tidewellhospice.org/
