Born in Ortelsburg, East Prussia,Germany. He was the last surviving child of Martha (Szech) and Arthur Marenski.
He was employed by Kulick and Soffa for over 20 years traveling many times to Japan in the early 70’s as part of the Service Department. Later to spend more time with his family he became a model maker and worked for them in King of Prussia. Ortolf’s last employer was North American Drager where he ran the machine shop for many years, and later he helped manage the company’s facilities until his retirement in 1996.
Ortolf and his wife Siegrid were avid campers their entire life together. He traveled and loved camping with his family, spending many summers at Stokes Forest in Northern New Jersey. Once he retired, he and his wife traveled the country in their motorhome visiting every state making many treasured memories and friends along the way. He loved driving his motorhome and was very skilled at it. If there had been a bridge to Hawaii, he would have driven there too. In the later years they were snowbirds in Florida every winter and had many friends they would see each year. Ortolf Loved to sit by the campfire and playing his harmonica with a passion.
Ortolf was a devout member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church 610 Pine St. Bally, PA 19503.
He is survived by his children, Linda A. Marenski of Bally, Judith E, Schoenly companion of Eric Capp of Bally, Stephen O. Marenski companion of Liudmylia Sterstiuk of Barto. Grandchildren, Joshua Schoenly, Nicholas Schoenly, Jonathan Schoenly and Cassandra Marenski. Great Grandchildren, Issac Schoenly, Evelyn Schoenly, Cole Schoenly and Reid Schoenly. He is also survived by his nephew Rainer Marenski and his wife Daggi of Dusseldorf, Germany. Ortolf is predeceased by his sons, Andrew Marenski and Martin Marenski. His siblings, Reni Reiser and Heinz Marenski.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM
Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at church.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ortolf's name to Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
