Marie Sullivan, aged 88, passed away on July 17, 2024 after a brief illness following a year of post-stroke assisted care. She is survived by her husband, Edward, her three sons, Brian (Jodie), Kevin (Missy,) and Mark (Tamara), her two sisters Jean Burlot and Victoria Ferrara, and her grandchildren Connor, Kyle, Samantha, Ryan, Kelly, Sean, Jason, and Leah.
Marie was born on March 22, 1936 in New York city to Mario Cesareo and Rose Burino Cesareo. She spent the first third of her life in New York, where she met and was married to Edward Sullivan in 1963. Shortly after that, they moved to Bowie, Maryland where they raised their family and where she lived until her passing.
Marie was a dedicated mother and spent her early adult years chasing after three boys and making sure they all got to soccer practice, scouting events, church activities, etc. on time and in the correct uniform. She worked steadfastly to ensure that her children knew right from wrong and lived by the “golden rule” and despite a few bumps in the road during the teen years, she was largely successful. As her children grew, she obtained her Associates Degree and held a number of professional roles as a real estate agent and as an office manager in various industries.
Marie loved puzzles of all sorts especially sudoku and crossword puzzles. She was strong willed, compassionate, and always gave you her honest opinion on any topic. She was well loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A viewing service will be held at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Maryland 20715 on Wednesday July 24 between 9:30am and 10:30am followed by a brief graveside service at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave, Davidsonville, Maryland 21035.
Condolences can be sent to Edward Sullivan at 4400 Orangewood Lane Bowie, Maryland 20715.
