

Attended public schools in Washington, D.C., namely Syphax Elementary and Anthoney Bowen temporarily while Syphax was being expanded. Returned to Syphax graduated to Randall Jr. High. Left Randall early. Went to Cardozo Senior High because of overcrowding at Randall. Returned Randall Jr. High for graduation. Returned to Cardozo until graduation. Attended Miner Teachers College for one year. Had to drop out because death of both parents and a shortage of funds to continue on.
Later taught school in Newark, N.J. and New Paltz, N.Y. a total of seven years. Returned to D.C. to work for the Federal Government. Retired from Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C. in 1990.
Served as a Lector at Holy Name Catholic Church.
Two brothers, Bernard and Joseph Green and two sisters, Eleanora Cherry and Charlotte Johnson – all preceded me in death.
Left to cherish my memory are: Janice Brown (Thomas), Carolyn Y. & Karen M. Hardy, Cheryl Johnson (deceased), Vinita Borden (Mel), Bernetta Green, Mark Johnson (Vera), Eric Johnson (Sylia) and Michael Johnson (Lynn), Steven Hardy (Janet), Marcus and Adrian Green, Christopher Brown and Bernard Green, Jr., one sister-in-law, Cora l. Green and one brother-in-law Walter R. Johnson.
Last but not least, there are a host of other great-great nieces and nephews.
