Jim was born on May 30, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island; his schooling consisted to one year of college and military schools related to his job classification.
Jim worked for NSA until his retirement in 1984 as a Signal Research Analyst Supervisor, Jim served his country in the U. S. Army and achieved the Rank of E4, in Baumholder, Germany.
He was a life member of the West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the American Legion, Disney - Bell Post 66 in Bowie, MD and also attended St. Mary’s Catholic Parish.
Jim enjoyed entertaining, as well as cooking for friends and family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Germaine-Therese Donahue whom he married in 1956. He is also survived by his children, Michael Donahue of Woodbine, MD, Kevin Donahue of Prince Frederick, MD and Marie-Therese Dowling of Odenton, MD, as well as 3 grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with services set to begin at 1:00 PM at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd Bowie, MD
Family only Interment will take place at 1PM on Tuesday, August 29 in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery – Cheltenham 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256
