Helen Alice Summerlin Pearson

She was born January 7, 1936 in Sandersville, GA, to the late Charles Clement and Susie Lewis Summerlin.

Before her retirement in 2011, Helen was employed for many years as secretary at Olney Church of Christ and previously as secretary at University Park Church of Christ.

She was a Christian and worshipped with both the Olney Church of Christ and the University Park Church of Christ. She devoted her life to her family and to the church. As church secretary, she was involved in helping facilitate many church functions and assisting the many people with whom she came in contact. She was known for her hospitality. She loved to travel, especially with her sisters, to visit friends and family.

Helen is survived by two sisters, Catherine and Charlotte Summerlin; three children, Sharon Roberts and husband Jim, Michael Pearson and wife Angel, and David Pearson. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Melissa Hernandez and husband Jairo, Rebecca McMillion and husband Jace, Michael, Kenneth, Drew, Hunter and Mackenzie Pearson, Shawn and Hunter Baker and Kayla Rivas. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Summerlin Jr., Lewis Hall and James Summerlin; two sisters, Carrie Belle Green and Betty Green; and one granddaughter, Sarah Roberts.

Visitation will be at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie MD 20715 on Saturday, June 2, at 1 p.m. followed immediately by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Internment will be on a later date in Sandersville, Georgia.
