On Sunday, June 14, 2020, Francis (Frank) H. Kirby, Jr., of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away at home. Frank was born on Wednesday, December 20, 1950 in Alexandria, Virginia. Raised in his early years in Hillside, Maryland. His high school years were spent in Forestville, Maryland. Frank was a 1969 graduate of Suitland High School. He moved to Charles County in 1998.
Frank was a proud member of the Washington DC Local 5 Plumbers Union since 1969. He had to retire in 1992 because of heart disease and stroke.
Frank was of Presbyterian faith. His passion in life was drag racing and working on race cars. Later in life his other hobbies were fishing, exercising, and most recently, racing slot cars. He was also a model train enthusiast.
Frank was the first child of the late Francis H. Kirby and Olive Marie Reinhardt Kirby. He is survived by his beloved brothers Terry (Cherel), Mark (Lyn), sister Susan Kirby Veech (John), nephew Joe Kirby (Terry),
niece Hannah Kirby (Mark), nephew Jack Veech (Susan), and niece Caitlin Veech (Susan).
