Cynthia (Cindy) was the second born child of the late McKinley Turner Senior and the late Virginia Turner. Cynthia was born in Baltimore city January 21 1950. Cynthia graduated from Eastern high school in June 1968 and went on to join the Department Defense at Ford Mead, Maryland. Cynthia served for 39 years received numerous awards and certificates during her career. Cynthia married Roger Brown on June 11, 1971 and that began a “Adventure" that lasted 52 years. The years were filled with hard work, great food and loads of entertaining.
Cynthia worked tirelessly to take care of Ian and Roger while maintaining her career and household. Cynthia had a particular flare for plants and surrounded the home with beautiful Azalea and Hosta bushes. After retirement Cynthia and Roger moved to Henderson, Nevada for 12 years of travel and fun. Cynthia was able to travel to the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Canada, Hawaii and the Mediterranean. Cynthia move back to Maryland in 2019 when her health began to fail. Cynthia was an avid Baptist attending Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Las Vegas for the years she was there. Cynthia loved her family, friends, crabs and fruit. Cynthia fought type one diabetes for 50 years and Dementia for the last 10. A fighter to the end. Your struggle is over take a well deserved rest.

Cynthia leaves to mourn Roger Brown husband, Ian Brown son, two sisters Maria Turner and Debra Gray, two brothers Rev. Martin Turner and Clifton McBurroughs Jr. and a number of nieces and nephews. Also her lifelong friends, all of the Louisiana family and DOD co-workers. I have enjoyed you all and many thanks for the memories. Cindy
A memorial gathering for Cynthia will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715
A memorial service in Cynthia's memory will begin at 11:30 AM on January 24th.
