Thelma M. Swift

Thelma was born October 2, 1921 in Chiltonville (Plymouth), MA to Fred and Ella (Peck) Nickerson. She married George A. Swift and he preceded her in death. Thelma is survived by three sons, David, Steven and Roger Swift, two daughters, Susan J Swift and Jean C. Purrier and her partner Nelson E Coluzzi, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Don and George (Buzzy) Swift.

Thelma was an avid Red Sox fan who enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and playing bingo with her friends and family. She served as secretary for many years with Cedarville Art & Crafts. She spent countless hours volunteering her talents by knitting and sewing various items which she donated to Jordan Hospital. Thelma’s fondest hobby was feeding and watching the birds, and spending time with her family.

Calling hours will be Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home , 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne, Mass.

A funeral service will be held on Monday January 28, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cedarville Cemetery in Plymouth.
