Maria Pitchitchote Rosa Brito Evora Andrade

Maria Rosa Brito Evora Andrade, of Cataumet, MA., also known by her nickname “Pitchitchote;” passed away May 28, 2012 at JML Care Center in Falmouth, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late John Araujo Andrade and the loving daughter of the late Domingos Brito Evora and Luisa Rodrigues Pires.

Maria immigrated to the United States from the Cape Verde Islands in 1960 and worked as a nurse’s aid for the Barnstable County Hospital until her retirement in the late 1980’s. Maria was happiest around her family and friends and loved cooking, gardening, and listening to music.

Maria is survived by her only daughter Elizabeth Ann Andrade Da Silva married to Clarimundo Aderito Da Silva. She leaves behind three granddaughters Clarissa A. Da Silva, Cassandra M. Da Silva, and Claudia R. Da Silva, along with a great granddaughter Charisma E. Da Silva. Maria is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 1st, 2012 from 5 to 8pm at Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home located at 40 MacArthur Boulevard Bourne Massachusetts, 02532. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 2nd, 2012 at 10am at St. John’s The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church at 841 Shore Road at Barlow’s Landing Road, Pocasset MA 02559.

Maria’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the caregivers of Falmouth Hospital and JML Care Center in Falmouth, Massachusetts, for their compassion and loving care during the past few months.
