Santo and family so very sorry to just have heard of Madelines passing,GodBless all of you.Madeline was a beautiful kind lady , we admired her and Santo much as our friends, loved her cheese cakes. Take care of each other , Deepest  condolences to Santo and all of the family.

To the Russo family,
Some 35 plus years ago I met a man named Steven Russo.  He was in the Navy on the same ship my brother in law was on is how we happened to meet. I was going to college in San Diego and we did the unthinkable fell in love.
It was time for him to get out of the Navy and he went back home to New York, we still stayed in touch and me heartbroken.

The next thing you know he's sending me a ticket one way to be with him.  I was touched he wanted me with him.  I then went to the one person in my life (MY MOTHER) who I know would give me the guidance and help me with a decision I had to make, her words to me we're follow your HEART and my heart was in New York.

When I made to trip to New York I was so scared to meet the parents, Steve reassured me that they would love me and that they did.

The Russo's gave me a place to live,fed me all to well and helped me get a job.

Madeline taught me how to cook good Italian food that was her passion cooking she was great in the kitchen. Her laugh was contagious made you want to laugh with her, plus she always made me laugh when she would yell at Santo for whatever reason.

Madeline was a kind giving woman who loved unconditionally. She was also very talented when it came to doing her ceramics she would spend hours doing it and lived giving away some of her pieces that I still have to this day.

Although Steve and I ended our marriage we were always a part of each other's lives just as Madeline was in mine. She would remember me for the holidays with greeting cards and phone calls to see how I was doing, I will really miss that, my family will also miss her, especially my mom who enjoyed sharing conversation with her.

I am glad I have a big heart, with the passing of Steve he took a piece of my heart with him just as Madeline's passing took even more.  Madeline will be a happy memory for me and will always be in my heart.  I am the lucky one to have been a part of such a beautiful loving family.  Madeline was a remarkable and very special woman.
Rest in peace now with Steven.

Grandma,
Hands down the toughest thing I have ever experienced was loosing you not only as my grandmother but my best friend as well. You made me understand the true meaning of love, friendship, goodness, & humbleness. You brought upon your outrageous beautiful personality every where you went & i plan to carry that same personality out for you. It's the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that's I'll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. The all day shopping trips, dusting every piece of furniture there was to dust for you, fighting about where we'd go out for lunch to eat (we always chose Panera), and teaching me the right way to cook. I know it's tough for everyone who had you in their life but it's those special unforgettable memories that will help push the pain away. I will never be able to thank you enough for all that you did for me grandma you were one of a kind, & I'm so grateful to have had you as my grandmother. I love you forever & always. Rest in paradise.

I was so sorry to hear this. I knew Madeline for over 30 years. She was Chris's and Grace's aunt, but she was so good to all of us (Chris's and Grace's friends), that I felt like she was my aunt, as well. She never missed a beat, always picking up the conversation from where you last left off, as if she'd been keeping tabs on you the whole time. She was genuine in that respect, because she truly listened when you talked with her. I'm grateful for the time I got to spend with her. I'll say this too: The Russo's are a colorful bunch, and she might've been the quiet one comparatively, but I always had the feeling that she was enjoying the ride just as much as anyone, and I loved that. To Santo, Michael, Rosemary, Rocco, and the extended families of all the Russo's and DiBenedetto's, my deepest condolences. Rest in peace, Madeline.

My grandma

A lady sweeter than all of the candy in her house, person who had enough love in her heart to give to the world. You taught me many things some may have taken 20 years to understand, like why I would have to clean the baseboards or dust around the picture frames and how easy it is to cook without owning any measuring cups things you take for granted at a young age bt out of all things you taught me patience and I hope one day to have as much as you. You were like my magic carpet the one to swoop down and save me when I was in a tight spot. I remember after Christmas the year that I got new rollerblades I hurt my hand when playing outside I came in the house and waited 4 hours for my mom or poppy to come home because I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want to scare you or make you nervous I waited 4 hours with what ended up being 4 broken fingers. That was the kinda of you taught me to think of others first. There is so much I could say. Bt I just want you to know I love you so much & me and Kameron will miss you

To my wonderful sister who showed me much love throughout my life! I will truly miss you I will carry you in my heart  forever!❤ All the memories we shared will be deeply cherished.i know you will be with mommy, daddy,and Steven. and the rest of the family they will take good care of you!  But it's still hard losing you. We will meet again  Rest In Peace I love you my sisterxxxoo  your brother Rocco❤❤

Madeline was kind and caring.  She was loved by many and will be missed by many.

My first time meeting Madeline was not one of my finer moments.  I was not sure if it was because I wasn't Italian or because I accepted the drink offer of a beer and drank it out of the bottle and not in the glass.  

My next meeting with Madeline was when Mike wanted her to come up to our house and spend some time during the summer.  What he didn't tell me was that she would be visiting for the entire summer!  

What I imagined as a torturous and somewhat disastrous 6 weeks turned into a wonderful relationship with a loving woman.  

She had the opportunity to get to know me and my family and was able to spend time with her son and grandson  which was something she loved deeply.

Visiting during the summer months was a tradition that was started over 10 years ago.  

We all have great memories of Madeline. (please share them as it is what is going to help the family get through this difficult time)

Swimming in the pool, talking for hours, shopping at Kohl's, cheating at cards, and cooking up a storm!

Remembering you is going to be easy!!  
Missing you is going to be the hard part.

Mom, You were as loving and caring to me as any mom could possibly be. Words would not describe how fortunate and blessed I was to be your son. I hope I can live up to the legacy you left in my heart. I am not ready to be without you. This was too soon. But thank you so very much for my life. Thank you for your love, support, and all the wonderful memories you gave me. Your the first to see Steven. We will all be together again. But first I raise your Granchildren as you raised me. I was very lucky to get to know her. Even if it was a few times and each time was always original.

We loved Madeline, like a second Mom. Beautiful lady, so sad that she passed, She can show her talents in heaven.
