Keith Winslow Ellis, Sr Age 73, died peacefully at the LifeCare center of Plymouth on Monday, September 6, 2021. He was born on June 14, 1948 in Falmouth, MA. He was the second child of Leslie & Elizabeth Roper Ellis.
Keith was a graduate of Bourne High School and went on to attend Stockbridge School of Agriculture, an academic unit of the UMASS Amherst campus. At the young age of nineteen he was drafted into the U.S Army and soon found himself at Fort Bragg, NC for paramilitary and demolitions training. He was deployed to Vietnam, where he served two years as a Sergeant. He was a courageous hero to his beloved country, family, and friends.
Soon after returning from Vietnam, in 1974, Keith started a landscape business, Sagamore Cranberry, with his cousin Glenn Terrill. Together, they owned forty acres of cranberry bogs and an additional one hundred acres of supporting upland. As an avid sportsman he enjoyed hunting and shell fishing. The annual hunting season, a source of pride and joy, was spent with close friends and family. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Sagamore beach for ten years.
The core of his life was always his marriage and family. He was married to Lynne Elizabeth Keery in 1976, with whom he shared forty-five years of marriage filled with love, happiness, and heartfelt devotion. The love they shared is admired by all but experienced by few. Together they raised four children in Sagamore Beach, MA. Nothing gave him more pride than seeing his children grow and later start families of their own.
Keith is survived by: his uncle Herbert Ellis & wife Jean Ellis, Aunt Janice Terrill and husband Jack, of Sagamore Beach. His sister Brenda Weston and husband Larry of Buzzards Bay, MA. Keith is also survived by: his son Keith W. Ellis Junior and wife Maura of Sagamore Beach, MA, son Christopher W. Ellis and wife Shannon of Plymouth, MA, daughter Keri Ellis Lata and husband Nicolas of West Hartford, CT and son David L. Ellis of Marstons Mills, MA. As well as many nieces and nephews and close family friends. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Aiden, Keith III & Emory Ellis, Jameson & Tabor Ellis, Emmett & Brayden Lata.
