Born on July 20, 1933 in Lawrence, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence A. Farrington. Loving mother of Mark E. Farrington of Shirley, MA, Gregory J. Farrington and his wife Yvonne of West Palm Beach, FL, Christa L. Spinato and her husband Jeff of Cape Coral, FL, Linda C. Gouchie and her husband Don of Mendon, MA and Geoffrey E. Farrington and his wife Amy of Millis, MA. Loving grandmother of Gayle Graves (Andrew), Colleen McCarthy (Frankie), Andrew, Olivia, Kyle and Ashley Farrington and loving great grandmother to Lila, Kareem and Kyla Farrington, Thomas, Matthew and Ryan McCarthy and James and Henry Graves. Loving mother-in-law to Bonnie Farrington and Suzanne Bondy.
She graduated from Northeastern University in 1955 with a degree in Biochemistry. At her first job out of college, she met the love of her life, Lawrence Farrington, and they married and raised 5 children together. She worked for many years at Filene’s in Wellesley where she was a sales associate and union steward. She and her husband built their dream house on Scraggy Neck on the Cape and retired there where they quickly made close friends and enjoyed hosting their many grandchildren at the beach. They loved to travel to England and Scotland and she pursued her interest in gardening at Aptucxet Garden Club of Bourne.
After her husband died in 1997, she went back to work at the Coast Guard Exchange at Otis Airforce Base where she enjoyed meeting many former and active service members and worked until she was 90. In 2018, she won the Outstanding Military Member of the year for her work. After she left Otis Airforce Base, she moved to The Residence at Charles Meadow in Millis where she quickly made more friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on November 6th from 7:30AM to 9:30AM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. A Mass will be celebrated at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 841 Shore Rd, Pocasset MA with burial to follow at 12:30PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
