Gloria Rose May Simmons

Gloria Rose (May) Simmons 87, of Pocasset, died September 21st, surrounded by her family. She was born in Westbrook, Maine to the late John Henry May, Jr. and his wife, the late Homerine (Daniels) May.

She leaves 5 children, Sharon Hawkins and her husband Richard of Pocasset, Brenda Gardner and her husband Richard of Somerset, John Simmons and his wife Deborah of Taunton, Jill Bell and her husband Stewart of Pocasset, and Bradford Simmons and his wife Jane of Naples, Fl. She also leaves a sister, Beverly Baldwin and her husband Tom of Broomfield, Co., 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1944 and met and married Daniel L. Simmons of Arcadia, Florida. They lived in several places in Maine and Florida before moving to Somerset, Ma in 1966. While in Somerset, she began working for Carol Brannaka Realtors and stayed until her retirement 19 years later at age 78.

For the past 10 years she has lived in Pocasset and enjoyed living on Cape Cod. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 25th at 2:00 at the North Falmouth Congregational Church.
