Former National Dirt Bike Champion
Eric Chad Robbins, 49, of East Sandwich died April 18 in Stoughton MA from complications of a catastrophic dirt bike accident in 1998. After his extended rehabilitation and training at Shepherd Center in Atlanta GA he returned to Sandwich.
Eric was a Graphic Designer and created websites for his business and private clients. His life-long dream of dirt bikes and motocross racing began when he rode his first mini bike at age 5. Eric had been racing at a young age and he won many Top Finishing Trophies in his class at the Dirt Bike Track in Mashpee. In 1987 at age 17 Eric won the National Champion Trophy in the USA BMX GRAND NATIONALS in New York.
He is survived by his devoted Mother, Linda Robbins, of East Sandwich and is predeceased by his Father, Philip C Robbins. He also leaves his Brother, Scot (Kim) of Pocasset and a Dear Aunt, Pauline Miles of Plymouth.
Eric attended school in Plymouth and Sandwich. He was employed by several major supermarkets and at
the time of the accident Eric was the Meat Manager for Stop & Shop in Dennis MA. Eric was valiant and will be missed by all who knew him.
Burial was private at the Sandwich Town Cemetery, Route 130, Sandwich MA.
