Christine Mary Tobey

Monument Beach – Christine Mary Tobey passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was 79 years old. Mrs. Tobey was born on July 2, 1933 in Bridgeport Connecticut, to Tatua (Theodore) of Fogo Island Cape Verde and Loretta (Ladaceur) Barboza of Canada. Christine was a loving mother and took great pride in raising her family at home. She was married to the late Alcott L. Tobey, Sr. She is survived by her daughter Linda Tobey-Wassell, her sons; Alcott L. Tobey Jr., Duncan Tobey and Dana Tobey, her brothers; Vincent, Joseph and Thomas Barboza, six grandchildren (Tanya, Robert, Timothy, Jacob, Corinne and Hunter) and 3 great-grandchildren (Brianna, Analaura and Phillip) and several nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by three brothers; Lawrence, William and Albert Barboza. Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home (Rte 28 Bourne) is in charge of arrangements. Funeral Services are private. Immediate family members and closest friends are invited to calling hours of 10:00 am to 11:45 am on Wednesday April 3 with graveside services to follow immediately after at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Wareham Ma. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association, flowers and sympathy cards are also welcome.
