PARROTT, Arthur, Raymond, Sr. 98, of Buzzards Bay, MA passed away peacefully on June 7, 2020, after a brief illness. He was born to the late Peter and Ethel Parrott (Hand) in Newark, NJ on February 28, 1922.
Arthur moved to Bourne in 1935, attending Bourne High School and graduating in 1941. He joined the Coast Guard in 1942, and served his country in the Pacific aboard the subchaser PC590 for
a year and half. Upon returning to the states, he married Blanche (Coppi), of Sagamore, who passed away in 2006, after 62 years of marriage. He worked for many years for the telephone company and retired as a foreman. Then worked on Otis AFB for Nafa Coastguard.
Arthur was very proud of being a WWII veteran like so many of “the Greatest Generation”. In October 2011, he went on the honor flight New England to Washington DC where he was able to see the WWII memorial.
Ray, as most remember him by, will be remembered as a precise and meticulous person when it came to whatever he did in his life. He was always ready to laugh with a good sense of humor.
He was the best father & “Bubba”, anyone could ask for, & he will be missed by all. Arthur, is survived by his son, Jeffrey Parrott of Buzzards Bay, MA, his two Grandsons, Thomas Parrott & wife Michelle (DeMatteo) of Buzzards Bay, MA, Michael Parrott & Nichole (Churchill) of Rochester, MA, Great

Funeral services will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne MA on Tuesday June 16, 2020 from 9:30-10:30 AM and the burial at the National Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wareham ~ New Bedford Lodge of Elks #73 where Arthur was a life long member located at 2855 Cranberry Highway by visiting their website at www.elkslodge73.
