Terry Alan Jones

Terry Jones passed away in hospice on March 5, 2021 with both of his children present. Terry succumbed to severe pancreatitis, along with multiple other complications. Terry was born to Everett and Dee Jones in Kansas in December 1951. He spent several years growing up in Texas where he was a great little league baseball player and stumped many pitchers by switch hitting either from the right or the left. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Colorado. He went to college at Western State in Gunnison, CU Boulder, and finished, graduating with a BS degree in Anthropology from CSU in Fort Collins.

Terry met and married Shelley Bailey in Boulder. They had two children Audrey and Everett (Scooter). Terry's greatest joy was raising his children. He devoted his life to them. He encouraged them in every new interest &/or activity they chose, while discreetly guiding those choices.

Terry AKA “Willy” was the owner of Nick N Willy’s Take N Bake Pizza in Boulder on west Pearl Street .He started the business in 1988 with a partner Keith McQuillen. Their business grew to over two dozen locations at one point. Terry took the reins and continued his success even being voted Best Pizza in Boulder for 28 years in the Boulder Daily Camera competition. Nick N Willy’s will continue to operate with his son at the helm along with two employees of 15 years each. The same great recipes & service will be maintained. His mother remembered an intriguing antidote. Terry noted that several of his employees over the years met their soul mate at Nick N Willy’s, within their coworkers, and are still happily married. Their kids are currently part of the Nick N Willy’s crew, along with several other 2nd gen-ers!

Terry was an avid sportsman enjoying snow skiing, kite boarding, mountain biking, golf, water skiing, camping, fishing, hunting & target shooting. He taught his children some of these sports so they could enjoy them together! He enjoyed many of the activities with his numerous friends. Terry also traveled to many destinations learning about the world.

Terry is survived by his mother, Dee Jones, his sister, Tana of Wiggins, CO., his brother, Kevin of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and his children, Audrey and Scooter.

Services will be postponed due to Covid restrictions and a “Celebration of his Life” will be held hopefully this summer. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to any organization of your choice.
