Hallie Louise Rich

Hallie was born on May 29, 1920 to Bruce and Mabel Patton in Boulder, Colorado, where she was a lifelong resident. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her daughter Carolyn Kay Stockton, and her son Anthony "Tony" Rich.

"Mama Hallie" was the name that everyone knew her by and not just by her immediate family. The kindness and warmth that Mama Hallie projected to everyone made her feel like everyone's "Mama" including grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors, friends and just about anybody who ever came through her front door.

Mama Hallie's door was always open to family and friends to enjoy coffee and conversation around her kitchen table.

Hallie grew up in Boulder back when it was a small town, attending Whittier Elementary School, Northside (Casey) Junior High School and was in the first graduating class of Boulder High School (1938). She married Joe Rich, her grade school sweetheart, in 1941. Hallie loved her family immensely and enjoyed tending her beautiful rose garden at her Boulder home where she raised four children and the smell of good cooking was always in the air.

Hallie is survived by her daughters Sallie Jones (South Charleston, WV), Connie Leonard (Bill); son in-law Dick Stockton; grandsons Randall Gomez, Daniel Stockton, Donovan Stockton, Brian Leonard, and great-grandchildren Joseph Gomez, Alexis Stockton, Jack Stockton, Carly Stockton, Keenan Leonard, Hallie Leonard, and Zoe Gomez along with many nieces and a nephew who she dearly loved.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 AM. A reception will immediately follow the Mass in the reception hall. A private interment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Park.
