Timothy Wan-Hon Lam, age 79, died peacefully on 5/4/2023 with his loving wife, Lily Cheng Lam, of 41 years, by his side. Tim resided at South Cove Manor of Quincy Point after fighting a long battle with muscular dystrophy.
Tim was born on 8/14/1943 in Quangxi, China to father, Kwok-Leung Lam and mother, Wai-San Lee Lam. Tim grew up in Hong Kong and attended Pui Ching Primary School, Diocesan Boys’ School. After immigrating to the United States in 1969, he resided in Brighton, MA.
Tim was employed as a Sr. Insurance Specialist at John Hancock, Boston for 33 years. Throughout his career, Tim was awarded several certifications for his outstanding performance, attendance, and leadership. Tim was an avid reader interested in sports, world events, and history. He loved to sing, exercise, and paint scenes of Gloucester seashore and countrysides in New England using various media. Tim enjoyed shopping, good food, and exploring Boston via the MBTA and was known to many of the drivers. Tim traveled to Australia, England, France, Switzerland, Singapore, Canada, China, and Hawaii with Lily.
Tim is survived by his older brother, Jacob Wan-Tat Lam and wife Simone Lai-Ping Sit Lam of Toronto, Canada; younger brother Matthew Wan-Kai Lam and wife Carol of Pompano Beach, FL; niece Simone and husband Kenneth Lee of Medfield; and nephew Francis and wife May Lam of Natick.
Tim was baptized by Elder Samuel Cheung of Chinese Bible Church of Greater Lowell. A private service for the family will be held on June 24, 2023 at South Cove at 12:00 noon. Cremated remains will rest at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Tim to Muscular Dystrophy Association at mda.donordrive.com
