Wilma Patterson Davis, 93, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born July 14, 1920 to Alma and Will Patterson. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and she retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital after working over 25 years. Wilma was a fantastic cook, known for her chocolate and peach fried pies and she loved her flowers and gardening and she was a very generous person.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2014 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. David Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.
Survivors are her daughter, Joan (John) Tosh of Somerville, TN; one brother, Gaston Patterson of LA; three grandchildren, John Thomas III “Tommy” (Sarah) Tosh of Festus, MO, Fonda Lynn (Bryan) Tosh/Bates of Midlothian, TX and Danny Jay Davis of Holly Springs, MS; six great grandchildren, Johnathan Randle Tosh, Joseph Hunter Tosh, Samantha Danielle Bates, Jayson Daniel Bates, D.J. Davis and Jackie Davis.
Preceded in death by her husband Joe Marion Davis; her parents; one son, Wilmer Daniel “Danny” Davis; six sisters, Dollie Copper, Jessie Walker, Euzeni Hamm, Bobbie Brunts, Mattie Massey and Ethyl Cranford; two brothers, Lloyd and Carlos Patterson.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Massey, Rick Massey, Tommy Patterson, Tony Patterson, Junior Dixon, Jayson Daniel Bates and Billy Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be J.P. Davis and Billy Davis.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM – 3:00PM Sunday, February 23, 2014 at McMillan Funeral Home.
