William "Whimp" Earl Cooper

William “Whimp” Earl Cooper, 62, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS. He was born on February 28, 1962, to Roy and Ellen Cooper. William “Whimp” enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was a roofer most of his life. He enjoyed playing basketball in school.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Strickland (Bo); one step-daughter, Neshia Estrada (Jorge); three brothers, Eddie Cooper (Cherie), Pastor Charles Cooper (Orilee), and Dalton Cooper (Mable); four sisters, Donna Essary, Nell Whiteside (Larry), Martha Davis (Gene), and Brenda Posey; one sister-in-law, Becky Cooper; four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Preston, Dallas, and William; three step-grandchildren, McKenzie, Blaze, and Madalyn; one great-grandchild, Addalyn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, infant James Roy Cooper, and Kenneth Cooper; one brother-in-law, Tommy Posey; two nephews, Johnny Cooper and Billy Dale Davis; two great nephews, Ben Boren and Mikey Bishop; and great-nephew, Willie Posey.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, at McMillan Funeral Home.

A Celebration of William’s Life will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
